Open website http://roquetaillade.eu Château Fort de Roquetaillade - is a unique example of two medieval castles in a common enclosure, inhabited by the same family for almost 1000 years:-"a castle still alive". The second Castle or "New Castle" was built by Pope Clement V for his nephew in 1306. The two castles were classified Historic Monument in 1840. Roquetaillade is the most visited castles around Bordeaux. It is fully furnished and the austere walls hide an extraordinary interior design created by Viollet-le-Duc in the 19th century. These decorations are unique in France and were classified a Historic Monument in 1974. Roquetaillade has received the best tour and the best welcome awards / The Park is designated as a historic Monument / 2 stars Michelin Green Guide-"not to be missed". In summer the Bazadaise Museum is open. This is an authentic farm in the Bazadais with its living residents - oxen of Bazas, hens Gascon, Gascon pigs etc..... For adults and children. GROUPE VISITS - throughout the year by appointment. INDIVIDUAL visit - July - August: tours every day from 10: 30 to 17: 30. From Easter to 11 Nov: 2 visits all days 15 h 00 and 16 h 00. From 12 November to Easter: 1 visit at 15 h 00 Sundays, public holidays and school holidays Zone Bordeaux. GROUPS - All the days of the year by appointment. 2 stars in the Michelin guide "to visit".
